Our Code of Conduct outlines the basic behaviors you can expect from all our Support Workers at all times

  • Our carers must

    • not smoke in your home

    • ensure that all records are legible, factual, signed and dated and kept in the agreed safe place

    • not be intoxicated or consume alcohol whilst working

    • not take another person into your home, unless in exceptional circumstances

    • never be in your home without you, or your representative, being present, unless we have written permission

  • Our carers must

    • be whole-heartedly committed to providing the highest standard of service 

    • treat your home as if it was their own home

    • be flexible so they can meet your changing needs on a daily basis

    • provide Person Centred care not task led care

    • follow your personal Care Plan and report any changes to your circumstances so that we can review and appropriately amend the care we provide

    • provide care with kindness, dignity, respect and compassion

    • respect your choices and decisions

    • welcome expressions of dissatisfaction as they are our opportunity to put issues right

  • Our carers must

    • dress smartly and appropriately for every visit

    • ensure a high level of personal hygiene 

    • wear disposable gloves and aprons for personal care work

    • wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if you or our carer are unwell or when it is appropriate to protect health

  • Our carers must

    • meticulously follow your personal Care Plan

    • only give medications that they are authorised by us to administer

    • accurately record all medicines that are administered to you

    • be alert to any factors which may pose a risk to you, and to report those concerns 

    • respect your right to refuse medicine on any occasion, and to immediately report refusals and missed doses 

    • immediately report any  mistakes in the administration of medication including omitted doses and seeking medical advice when required

  • Our carers must

    • not talk about you with other colleagues in public places where they could be overheard for example in public places, during training or in group supervisions

    • store your records securely and out of sight

    • ensure that their electronic devices such as computer screens or phones are shielded from general view when displaying your information

    • keep a minimum amount of personal information at your home

    • not share passwords or leave them lying around for others to see

    • immediately report any actual or suspected breaches of confidentiality to their manager

    • not share information unless there are statutory grounds to do so i.e. to protect you from harm

  • Our carers must

    • carry a Loceti Care Limited ID card and show it before entering your home

    • respect your right to refuse entry if an ID card can’t be shown

    • tell you if a different carer will be visiting your home due to holidays or sickness

  • Our carers must

    • respect your rights to be treated equally, regardless of  race, nationality, ethnic origin, religion, marital status, sexuality or disability

    • ensure that all interactions with you are free from all forms of discrimination, harassment and intimidation

  • Our carers must

    • stick to appointment times and the duration of each visit 

    • as soon as possible advise you if they expect to be late for a visit

  • Our carers must

    • not accept gifts from you, unless permission is held

    • not borrow or lend money from/to you

  • Our carers must

    • not buy,  sell or borrow items from you unless permission is held

  • Our carers must

    • not agree to being involved in your Will in any capacity

    • only carry out financial transactions for you that are stated in your Care Plan i.e. shopping

  • Our carers must

    • maintain a good rapport with you that respect the expected normal professional boundaries

    • avoid emotional and physical familiarity
